ADIRSOH (as it was called originally) is a representative body encompassing Driving Instructors and Road Safety Officers. The main objectives of the association are to promote improvements in driver education and to maintain an open and effective exchange of information relating to Road Safety and Driver Training and Testing. The association will also study new and existing legislation affecting Road Safety and Driver Training, Testing & Education presenting findings and opinions to government agencies and other interested bodies. Members will also benefit from training towards continual professional development.
General meetings are held between six and eight times per year and usually are in the format of workshops although there are occasionally guest speakers whose subjects are Road Safety related.

ADIRSOH was founded 20 years ago trying to make the roads of Haringey safer for the residents and has since grown to the largest local Driving Instructor association in the British Isles and is continuing to grow in numbers and influence. With the motto “Teaching Road Safety Together” the Driving Instructors and Road Safety Officers compliment each other in shared objectives and principles.

In 2008 the group lost the support of our friends at Haringey Council due to their cut backs and became ADIRSO and is now forging ahead to the future, forming links with other groups in London and around the country.

Why ADIRSO?

Typical Poster

As you can see from the poster here, only the best people come to talk to the members. It is felt desperately important to get in the right calibre of speakers as this is what the modern ADI,PDI & RSO is looking for, along with all the latest information to keep themselves up to date.

ADIRSO Meetings.

ADIRSO is run by ADIs and RSOs for ADIs, PDIs and RSOs and has no outside influences or pressures trying to divert it or pressurise it. It is there purely to provide the latest information and ideas to keep its members up to date and informed.

You will see more on the About Us page, some details of the meetings and speakers who have come and presented to the membership in the past. Take a look it really is very tempting.

If you have any queries, or just need a little more information, drop us a line on the contact page and we will see what we can do to help.

Or alternatively, if you go to the Committee Members page you can email the relevent Committee Member
and they will then get back to you with a reply.

As you can see on the poster alongside, ADIRSO can now also be found on facebook.

Once there, you will see lots of links to other sites as well as the ones on here, all selected with Road Safety and Driver Education in mind.

There is also a Book Stall at the meetings, with the latest books for sale as well as other items, such as blindspot mirrors etc depending upon  available stocks.

Often you will find   free  leaflets/booklets to help with in car tuition.
